Gainesville's Eamon Monaghan is the best in the state's highest classification. 

On Saturday, the Red Elephants' swimmer took the 7A state championship with a time of 48.63 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly at the state championship meet in Atlanta. 

In Class 3A, Cherokee Bluff's Dean Wall took second in the 50 free (20.69) and 100 free (46.45).

For North Hall, its boys 200-medley relay team took third place (1:40.98) in the Class A-3A race. 

The Trojans' boys were also third place overall.
