Jason Holcombe was named the new Jackson County High School athletics director Monday at the Jackson County School Board's July work session.

Holcombe comes to Jackson County after serving as assistant athletics director at North Gwinnett High School. He replaces Joe Lancaster, who held the position for the past six years while also serving as assistant principal, a role that Holcombe will also be taking over.
Holcombe, who said landing his first AD position is a "dream come true."

"This has been the culmination of about 10 years of working my way through the ranks and learning from a multitude of great people," he said.
