Kelsi Jones led West Hall with 17 kills and 14 aces in the Lady Spartans’ first sweep of the season, defeating Madison County (25-9, 25-15) and Cedar Shoals (25-16, 25-14) on Thursday in Oakwood.

Alli Busbee added 21 assists for West Hall (6-10, 1-2 Area 5-AAA), and Kendall Courson contributed to the pair of wins with strong play.

The Lady Spartans play host to St. Pius X on Tuesday in Oakwood.

JEFFERSON SWEEPS PAIR: Bre Arbanas led Jefferson with 10 aces, seven kills, four digs and an assist in wins against Chestatee (25-22, 25-16) and Prince Avenue Christian (25-14, 25-17) on Thursday in Jefferson.

Madison Corbett added 19 assists, three aces and a pair of digs for the Lady Dragons, while Paige Watson had 14 assists, two aces and a dig. Grace Williamson tallied 10 kills and eight digs.

Grace Brown led Chestatee with 12 kills and eight digs in the loss to Jefferson and a loss to Prince Avenue Christian (25-11, 17-25, 25-22).

Gabby Castillo added 13 digs for the Lady War Eagles, Breezy Walker had 20 assists, and Melanie Smith tallied 11 kills and 1 1/2 blocks.

BUFORD TAKES TWO: Morgan Mitchell tallied 31 assists and 11 digs to lead Buford in wins against Brookwood (25-17, 25-15) and Hebron Christian (25-20, 25-23) on Thursday in Buford.

Maggie Roper added 16 kills, 13 digs and nine aces for the Lady Wolves (15-8), and Gabby Curry had 13 kills and seven digs. Mikhayla Riegel notched 14 digs.

Buford plays in the Gwinnett County Championships on Thursday in Norcross.


CHESTATEE 10, JOHNSON 2: Bridgette Kelly went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs to lead the Lady War Eagles on Thursday in Oakwood.

Shelby Palmer added three RBIs for Chestatee, and Savanna Long was 2 for 3.

The Lady War Eagles play host to Rabun County on Monday in Gainesville.

BANKS COUNTY 6, FANNIN COUNTY 4: Haley Warner led the Lady Leopards with a single, double, RBI and a run scored on Thursday in Blue Ridge.

Morgan Rylee went 2 for 3 with a pair of singles for Banks County (9-4, 4-3 Region 7-AAA). Kaitlyn Stewart and Lindsey Elliott each hit two-RBI singles.

Mallory Parson earned the win from the circle for the Lady Leopards.

Banks County visits West Hall at 5:55 p.m. today in Oakwood.

GAINESVILLE 12, CEDAR SHOALS 0: Kara England allowed just one hit while striking out six over four innings on Thursday in Gainesville.

Kayla Montague went 3 for 4 for the Lady Red Elephants (6-10), and England was 2 for 3.

Gainesville plays host to Norcross at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Gainesville

BUFORD 11, WEST HALL 0: Kennedy Kotula and Peyton Wolfe combined in the circle to earn the no-hitter on Thursday in Oakwood.

Kotula struck out four over the first three innings and earned her first varsity win, while Wolfe pitched the final two.

Morgan Walters led the Lady Wolves (14-1, 7-0 Region 7-AAA) offensively with a two-run homer in the third inning. She finished 1 for 1 with two runs scored and two stolen bases as well. Jordan Deep also homered for Buford in the top of the first.

Niki Cook finished the game 2 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Baylee Sexton went 1 for 2 with a double, RBI and two runs scored.

Buford travels to Milton High for a pair of games with Milton and South Forsyth at 10 a.m. Saturday in Milton.

JEFFERSON 5, UNION COUNTY 4: Ashley Boyd led the Lady Dragons with a three-run home run in the third inning on Thursday in Jefferson.

Savannah Snapp went 2 for 4 with an RBI for Jefferson (12-4, 8-1 Region 8-AA), and Olivia Husted earned the win pitching.

The Lady Dragons return to action in the North Hall Tournament against North Hall at 5 p.m. today in Gainesville.

EAST HALL 7, WHITE COUNTY 4: Abby Black went 3 for 3 to lead the Lady Vikings on Thursday in Cleveland.

Madison Brown hit an RBI double for East Hall, and Natalie Winters got the win from the circle.

The Lady Vikings play host to Union County on Monday in Gainesville.
