The Bowen Arts Center in Dawsonville will host a chamber music festival sponsored by Laurel Ridge Music Camp with six performances beginning Tuesday and continuing July 14, 16, 19, 21, and 23. The first performance will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bowen Center, just north of the Dawsonville town square on Ga. 9. Performers include some of the busiest and most sought-after chamber and symphony musicians in the Southeast. The Tuesday and Thursday concerts will include the camp’s faculty and guest musicians in chamber music from the string and keyboard repertory and will play in a wide variety of styles. After the concerts on Thursdays there will be a square dance, folk dance and drumming circle, which is also free and open to the public. The Saturday concerts will feature the camp’s orchestra and youth string students performing chamber music works they’ve prepared during the week. For information about the camp and the performers, visit www.northgeorgiamusic.com and click on the camp brochure. Or, contact the camp via email at LaurelRidgeMusicCamp@yahoo.com.
