High school scoreboard: Flowery Branch girls use strong fourth quarter performance to take down Chestatee in region matchup

Morgan Aguilar and Shaina Kriews each scored 12 points for the Flowery Branch girls as it topped Chestatee 46-37 on Tuesday. Leading by 2 after three quarters, the Lady Falcons outscored the Lady War Eagles 15-8 in the final quarter. 

Ashlee Locke had 10 points for Flowery Branch (12-8, 6-2 Region 7-4A), while Bella Brick chipped in 9. 

Up next, Flowery Branch hosts Blessed Trinity at 7 p.m. Friday. Chestatee will host Marist on Friday.

CHESTATEE BOYS 67, FLOWERY BRANCH 60: Brenton Nicholson made 7 3-pointers and scored a game-high 25 points and Kyle Bowmar finished with 19 for the War Eagles on Tuesday. Jonah Bull hit 6 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter and chipped in 10 points.

Flowery Branch was led by Trevor Gurske with 18 points and Trey Shaw’s 14. 

Chestatee took command early, leading 18-6 after the first quarter, and by 18 points after three periods.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 71, PRINCE AVENUE 43: Eliza Snyder had 20 points, nine rebounds and seven steals for the Lady Lions (15-5, 5-0 Region 8-A) on Tuesday. Joelle Snyder scored 17 for Lakeview Academy, while Jackie Allen finished with 16 points and six boards. 

Leading 17-6 after the first quarter, the Lady Lions stretched that lead to 35-17 at the half. 

Up next, Lakeview Academy visits Providence Christian at 6 p.m. Friday in Snellville.

NORTH HALL BOYS 60, FANNIN COUNTY 32: Clark Howell scored 12 and Ty Smith finished with 10 for the Trojans (15-6, 6-2 Region 7-3A) on Tuesday in Blue Ridge. Up 14-9 after the first quarter, North Hall’s lead was 30-16 at halftime.

Up next, North Hall visits Greater Atlanta Christian on Friday in Lilburn.

EAST HALL GIRLS 39, LUMPKIN COUNTY 37: Audrey Griffin had 14 points and Alexis Burce chipped in 8 on Tuesday for the Lady Vikings (7-12, 3-5 Region 7-3A) as they rallied from a 10-point hole at halftime. Up next, East Hall visits Cherokee Bluff on Friday in Flowery Branch.

LOGANVILLE BOYS 51, JOHNSON 44: Buddah Johnson had a game-high 11 points for the Knights on Tuesday. 

Up next, Johnson hosts Clarke Central at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

BUFORD GIRLS 69, CLARKE CENTRAL 33: Blair Wallis had a team-high 10 points for the Lady Wolves (18-0, 5-0 Region 8-5A), while Tori Ozment added 9 on Tuesday. 

Up next, Buford faces Walnut Grove at 6 p.m. Friday.

LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY GIRLS 51, KILLIAN HILLS CHRISTIAN 25: Reece Montgomery scored 13 to pace the Lady Lightning, while Faith Wasden added 11. Lanier Christian led 19-9 after one quarter and pushed the lead to 22 points at halftime.

Next up, the Lady Lightning will travel to take on Peachtree Academy Thursday evening.

KILLIAN HILL CHRISTIAN BOYS 62, LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 59 (OT): Trevin Last led the way for the Lightning with 17 points in the overtime loss. Stephen Clark chipped in 12.
