Local golf: Three strokes decides dogfight

Jim Arendt, Ken Lightfoot, Ron Crowe and Tony Tankersley teamed up to win the Wednesday Dogfight with a +11 this week at Chicopee Woods. Greg Lee, Terry Clegg, Tray Venable and Phillip Trapani placed second (+8).

Geoff Archibald, Tommy Calhoun, Gail Gibson and Jim Arendt finished third (-2).

Lee finished as the individual low scorer (+7).

Closest to the hole winners were Walter Hope, Crowe and Arendt.

Roger Futrell, Jim Carroll, Bob Layne and John Williams finished tied with the team of Dave Long, Joe Kolesar and Jere Cochran in the Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association’s three best ball aggregate net points game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Closest to the pin winners were, Kolesar (No. 3), Freeman (No. 5), Futrell (No. 12) and Gleason (No. 17).

The Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group played at Chattahoochee Golf Course this week.

First place went to the team of Gene Weschler, Anthony Barrett, Johnny Crumley and Don Rogers. Tom Pacoriek, Terry Clegg, Bob Jackson and Terry McFarland finished in second place.

Closest to the pin winners were Donnie Smith (No. 3), Larry Grant (No. 5), Tommy Lowery (No. 12) and Larry Miller (No. 17).
