High School Scoreboard: North Hall baseball scores five in the first to defeat Monroe Area

The North Hall Trojans baseball team defeated Monroe Area, 7-6, on Wednesday night.

North Hall was out hit 13-7, committed three errors to Monroe Area’s one, yet never trailed in the game, thanks to a five-run first inning that the Trojans rode to the fifth before scoring two more runs.

North Hall’s Jackson Latty and Jake Chester had two RBIs apiece.

North Hall hosts Stephens County on Friday.

WESLEYAN GIRLS 4, GAINESVILLE 1: Breana Fair scored the lone goal for the Lady Red Elephants assisted by Aneesa Jones on Wednesday.

Gainesville (9-2) hosts Discovery High 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tennis

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, CEDAR SHOALS 0: Reagan Williams (6-1, 6-0), Jeff Kiser (6-0, 6-2) and Jackson Fox were the winners in singles competition on Wednesday at Longwood Park in Gainesville.

Roan Thompson/Thomas Carter (6-0, 6-0) and Trevor Munn/Max Wuest (6-1, 6-1) won in doubles.

Gainesville hosts Loganville today.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5, CEDAR SHOALS 0: Singles winners were Katherine Wright, Haley Frankum and Ali Waggoner. Doubles team winners were Madi Kiser/Paige Patterson and Sally Calllahan/Paige Ackerman.

Gainesville (13-1, 7-0 8-AAAAA) hosts Loganville today at 4 p.m.

NORTH HALL BOYS 5, CHESTATEE 0: Jackson Davis (6-0, 6-0), Dalton Patterson (6-1, 6-1) and Reid Lattanzi (6-0, 6-0) won in singles. Paxton Gillespie/Dawson Smith def (6-1, 6-0) and Masa Kobayashi/Matthew Chewning (6-0, 6-0) were winners in doubles on Wednesday.

North Hall (13-2, 8-1 8-AAAA) hosts Gainesville on Monday.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 5, CHESTATEE 0: Karleigh Dills (6-0, 6-1), Christen Barnes (6-0, 6-0) and Lauren Davis (6-0, 6-0) won their singles matches on Wednesday. Courtney Barnes/Ireland Stackhouse (6-0, 6-0) and Brooke Rogers/Callyssa Tyner (6-4, 6-2) won in doubles.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 4, RABUN COUNTY 1: Sibu Khoza (6-2, 6-0) and Max Meehok (6-2, 6-4) won singles and Paul Popovich/Russell Bolton (7-6, 6-2) and Brayden Lawson/Josue Calderon (6-2, 6-4) took the win in doubles on Wednesday in Tiger.

Riverside Military Academy is 8-2 and 5-0 in Region 8-AA.

JOHNSON GIRLS 5, STEPHENS COUNTY 0: Kasey Crunkleton (6-1, 6-1), Tiffany Vu (6-1, 6-2) and Hannah Pruitt (6-0, 6-1) were victorious in single, while Macy Calhoun/Kylee Maynard (6-0, 6-0) won in doubles. Johnson won the second doubles match by default.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 3, FRANKLIN COUNTY 2 (TUESDAY): Braxton Ledford won in singles competition for the Leopards, while Gabe Martin/Stetson Boswell and Hunter Payne/Luke Schaefer won doubles to clinch the No. 1 seed for the Region 7-AAA tournament.

Banks County improves to 5-0 in region play and 6-1 overall.

Golf

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 138, BUFORD 141: Low medalist was Gainesville’s Ashleigh Bishop with a score of 42 on Wednesday at Bear’s Best Golf Course. Other scorers were Julianna Towns (47) and Lauren Pudenz (49).
