The Jefferson High baseball team picked up a 14-1 and 10-0 doubleheader sweep of East Jackson on Saturday.
In Game 1, Taylor Wilkes, Will Breese and Jake Franklin each had two hits and combined to drive in seven runs. Micah Carpenter reached base in all four plate appearance for Jefferson (12-2, 8-1 Region 8-AAA) and scored a pair of runs. Earning the win for Jefferson, Ethan Garner allowed just one hit with five strikeouts.
In Game 2, Franklin and Carpenter each had two hits and scored twice for Jefferson.
On Tuesday, Jefferson visits Hart County in Hartwell.
EAST HALL 4, FANNIN COUNTY 0 (Friday): Jack Hagwood hurled a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Vikings on Friday. He added three hits and scored twice for East Hall.
RIVERSIDE MILITARY SWEEPS JOHNSON (Friday): Eagles starting pitcher Ben Walker struck out 16 batters to earn the win in a 9-3 decision in Game 1 on Friday. The Eagles tacked on six runs in the sixth inning, including an RBI triple by Walker and a two-run single from Cole Garcia.
In Game 2, Riverside Military had 19 hits, eight for extra bases, in an 18-9 victory. Garcia finished the doubleheader with four hits and three RBIs.
Tennis
LADY TROJANS TAKE 2ND: The North Hall girls tennis team finished second in the Gwinnett Classic Tournament at Georgia Gwinnett College this weekend.
After a 4-1 victory against Flowery Branch and a 3-2 win versus South Forsyth, the Lady Trojans fell 3-2 to Lambert’s ‘A’ team in the championship.
Kelsey McCray and Karleigh Dills picked up singles wins for North Hall in the title match.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 8, WASHINGTON-WILKES 1 (Friday): Carlos Carrillo had a pair of goals — one on a bicycle kick — on Friday. Guillermo Celis and Samuel Palmer each found the back of the net twice for the Eagles. On Tuesday, Riverside Military visits Rabun County at 5 p.m. in Tiger.
