Chestatee boys pick up first win

Cole Morgan sank five 3-pointers and tallied 26 points to defeat Lumpkin County 81-73 Tuesday night and take home Chestatee’s first win of the season. Keelan Passmore finished with 12 points and five assists for the War Eagles.

The Indians were led by Devonte Anderson with 23 points and Hunter Polk with 10.

Chestatee visits White County at 7 p.m. Friday in Cleveland.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 40, HEBRON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 37: Taylor Handte led the Lady Lions (10-6, 5-2 Region 8A-A) with a team-high 11 points Tuesday night in Dacula.

Lakeview Academy visits Prince Avenue Christian at 7 p.m. on Friday in Bogart.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 74, HEBRON CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 47: Austin Pearson scored 19 points to lead the Lions (13-3, 7-0 Region 8A-A) to the win Tuesday night in Dacula. Austin Montgomery scored 17 points and Matt Askounis finished with 10 points for Lakeview.

Lakeview Academy visits Prince Avenue Christian at 8:30 p.m. on Friday in Bogart.

WEST HALL GIRLS 54, MONROE 27: Miranda Miller scored 12 points to lead the Lady Spartans (6-15, 3-4 8-AAA South) Tuesday night in Monroe. Sophomore Maia Booker added 11 points for West Hall.

The Lady Spartans visit Johnson at 6 p.m. Saturday.

UNION COUNTY GIRLS 60, BANKS COUNTY 51: Rebecka Merritt led all scorers with 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Lady Panthers (15-3, 2-1 Region 8-AA North) Tuesday night in Blairsville. Senior Angie Hughes poured in 20 points with 14 rebounds and sophomore Lauren Zollinger finished with 11 points for Union County.

Deasha Beasley led the Lady Leopards (12-6) with a team-high 14 points and freshman Kaitlyn Duncan finished with 11.

Leading 40-35 at the end of the third quarter, the Lady Panthers out-shot the Lady Leopards 20-16 in the fourth to secure the win.

Union County hosts Dawson County at 7 p.m. on Friday in Blairsville and Banks County hosts Fannin County at 7 p.m. on Friday in Homer.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 50, UNION COUNTY 48: The Leopards used a team-high 14 points from Taylor Foster to help beat Union County (10-8, 1-2 Region 8-AA North) Tuesday night in Blairsville. Jonah Thomas added 12 points for Banks County.

Zach Odom poured in a game-high 19 points for the Panthers. Junior Rhett McCombs added 14 points and James Rowe finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Banks County hosts Fannin County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday in Homer and Union County hosts Dawson County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday in Blairsville.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 56, CLARKE CENTRAL 54: Jamaad Stephens led the Falcons with a team-high 18 points Tuesday night in Athens. Nick Wayne added 17 points for Flowery Branch and Drew Miles finished with 15 points.

The Falcons will host Winder-Barrow at 7 p.m. on Friday in Flowery Branch.

CLARKE CENTRAL GIRLS 55, FLOWERY BRANCH 47: Tavia Sykes and Cara Chilton scored 13 points for the Lady Falcons on Tuesday night in Athens.

Flowery Branch hosts Winder-Barrow at 7 p.m. on Friday.

NORTH HALL BOYS 61, FRANKLIN COUNTY 49: Ebo Smith led the Trojans (15-3, 4-0 Region 8-AAA North) with a game-high 28 points Friday night in Carnesville. Preston Smith finished with 13 points for North Hall.

North Hall hosts Stephens County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 57, FRANKLIN 24: McKenna Rushton led the Lady Trojans (13-5, 4-0 Region 8-AAA North) with a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds Friday night in Carnesville. Mary Kate Rushton and Taylor Swoszowski poured in 13 points apiece for North Hall. Lady Trojans’ freshman Sydney Cleveland finished with 10 points.

North Hall hosts Stephens County at 7 p.m. on Friday.

JEFFERSON BOYS 52, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 31: Austin Thompson led the Dragons (11-7, 6-1 Region 8-AA South) with a game-high 26 points Tuesday night.

Jefferson hosts Flowery Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

EAST HALL BOYS 70, FANNIN 34: The Vikings were led by J.C. Hampton with 20 points and Caleb Holtzclaw with 12 points Tuesday night in Blue Ridge.

East Hall hosts Rabun County at 7 p.m. Friday.

JOHNSON BOYS 63, LANIER 49: Montrell McKenzie led the Knights (9-10, 1-5 Region 8-AAA South) with 19 point, 13 blocks and 11 rebounds Tuesday night in Oakwood. Ty Odem chipped in 17 points and Matt Hollis scored 15 for Johnson.

The Knights outscored the Longhorns 16-11 in the third quarter to take a 3-point lead going into the fourth and outscored Lanier 24-13.

Johnson visits Oconee County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday in Watkinsville.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN 67, THE CAMPUS 53: Dylan Boonstra led the Chargers (10-7, 5-2 ICSGA) with 22 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Jonah Martin chipped in 12 points, nine rebounds and two steals for North Georgia Christian. Trey Collins finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for the Chargers.

North Georgia Christian hosts Grace Baptist Academy at 6 p.m. on Friday.
