The annual Lanierland basketball tournament is still taking place Dec. 28-30, but with a twist in 2020, due to concerns over the coronavirus. Hall County director of athletics and communications Stan Lewis released information Friday that all first-round and Day 2 games will be held at the school with the higher seed. Crowd size is capped at 35 percent to allow for social distancing.
All girls games on the first two days will be at 3 p.m. and boys games will be at 7 p.m.
The championships will be held at 4:30 p.m. for the girls and 8:30 p.m. for the boys at Gainesville High on Dec. 30.
No tickets will be sold at the game.
All spectators will undergo temperature checks and are required to wear a mask for games played at Hall County school district gymnasiums, Lewis said.
