Former Georgia running back signed to Falcons squad

FLOWERY BRANCH – The Atlanta Falcons today signed sixth round draft pick running back Thomas Brown from Georgia. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.Brown, 5-8, 204 pounds, finished his career at Georgia ranked fifth in school history in the rushing department with 2,646 yards on 529 rushing attempts.  Brown’s all-purpose total of 3,767 yards is the fourth-best all-time mark in Georgia annals. In his final season in Athens, Ga. last year, he appeared in 10 games, recording 779 rushing yards with a career-high 10 touchdowns scored. Brown earned SEC Player of the Week honors against Mississippi (9/29) after finishing with 16 carries for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Brown attended Tucker (Georgia) High School and was an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super 11, Super Southern 100 and Class AAAA All-State choice as a senior. He rushed for 1,632 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior and in seven games during his senior season, added 941 yards and 17 scores.
