FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons re-signed tight end Jason Rader on Wednesday, one day after the team waived former West Hall and University of Georgia standout Martrez Milner.
Rader first signed with the Falcons on March 14 and was waived on Sept. 1.
Rader (6-4, 271) began his college career at Georgia before transferring to Marshall. He signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2005 and appeared in five games, including one start.
Rader is expected to provide depth at tight end behind Ben Hartsock.
Milner, a fourth-round draft pick from Georgia in 2007, caught nine passes for 50 yards in eight games last season before he was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 13 with an ankle injury.
