19-year-old’s body pulled from Lanier hour after he jumped from dock

A 19-year-old man’s body was pulled from Lake Lanier late Sunday night in South Hall County.

Hall County Fire Services responded to the 6700 block of Bass Circle at about 9:20 p.m. and were told that Stephen Frederick of Peachtree Corners had jumped off the second story of a dock and not resurfaced.

The department’s marine rescue team found him about an hour later in 19 feet of water. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Hall County Sheriff's Office also helped. The Sheriff’s Office will be investigating the incident.

Foul play is not suspected at this time, and the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office will be performing the autopsy, according to the sheriff’s office.
