The Dahlonega Square will be full of family activities, entertainment, and holiday cheer to celebrate the annual lighting of the Christmas tree and square and to kick off Dahlonega’s “Old-Fashioned Christmas” festival on Nov. 29.
Highlights will include a concert full of Christmas songs benefiting Dahlonega’s Holly Theater, horse-drawn carriage rides through the square, extended holiday shopping hours at local businesses, and a wide array of food trucks and vendors.
The square and tree will remain decorated through Jan. 12 and will be home to a number of events throughout the season.
Events throughout the day include
10 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Extended downtown merchant shopping hours
10 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Horse drawn carriage rides
3 p.m. to 7p.m.: Food trucks in the park
6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Lighting of the square and tree
6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: 2019 Christmas in Dahlonega collector’s ornament unveiled
8 p.m.: Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings benefit performance
