Sautee exhibit features works in clay

A new pottery exhibit will open Friday at the Sautee Nacoochee Center in White County.

"Magnificent Mud" will run through Sept. 23 in the twin galleries at SNCA. With 28 juried gallery potters, clay and ceramic artists and sculptors, the exhibit showcases some of the best local potters.

Also featured in the invitational hallway galleries will be clay artist Dianne Benefield. Her latest body of work "Glimpses of Glory" is a series of handcrafted clay leaves and other pieces of pottery incorporating nature.

Ethereal and mystical paintings by invitational artist Jeanie Tomanek will be highlighted in the hallway galleries as well.

The twin galleries at the Sautee Nacoochee Center, located at the intersection of Ga. 283 and 255 North, are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, and from 1-5 p.m. Sundays.
