If you're looking for laughs at the end of a busy work week, make your way to Lawrenceville for the Aurora Theatre's Funny Fridays.

The club on the downtown square will be host to performances by comedians, Dan Mengini and Joe Morrison at 7:15 p.m. and 9:16 p.m., respectively, Jan. 21.

Mengini, a University of Georgia alumnus, is nicknamed "The Machine" for his rapid-fire performance style that moves at a frenetic, but entertaining pace. His material is a family-friendly mix of one-liners and funny stories about his Italian father and a point of view that brings the world's design flaws into the spotlight.

One of Atlanta's most consistent performers for the last decade, Mengini is a big draw on college tours and spends the majority of his weekends on the road headlining clubs nationwide. He has earned television roles on Adult Swim's "The Rising Son," The CW's "One Tree Hill," and co-starred with Liza Minnelli, Delta Burke and Rosie O'Donnell on Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva."

Morrison has been performing stand-up professionally for more than 17 years. He has appeared on Comedy Central on the "Bob and Tom Show" and "The Johnboy and Billy Show." He specializes in making uncomfortable situations and subjects funny with a clever, upbeat point of view.

Currently, Joe headlines at clubs across the nation and has opened for another local favorite, Ron White.
