Golfers will putt for pets during the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia’s 27th annual Dog Day Afternoon Golf Tournament. “The proceeds will help provide low-cost pet health care services in the community as well as support the animals in our care until they are adopted,” HSNEGA Interim Executive Director Julie Edwards said, noting the event is the society’s longest running fundraiser. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 at the Chattahoochee Golf Course, 301 Tommy Aaron Drive, Gainesville.
