Next time you take your family to one of Hall County's 18 parks or community centers, snap some photos and they could be featured in the 2012 Hall County Parks and Leisure Calendar.

"We really just want ... the residents' view of the facilities and the parks in their community throughout the different seasons," said Kelly Norman, assistant program coordinator for HCPL.

The goal of the project, Norman said, is "to really get another perspective, an artistic perspective, of the parks and facilities."

Each month, photos must follow the themes outlined by HCPL, including: January, "Winterscapes," February, "Love is in the Air," March, "Blowing into Spring" and April, "Spring Showers."

Norman said the photos should include "whatever someone deems artistic expression, within tasteful means, to really highlight the resources and the beauty of Hall County and the facilities that we have on a seasonal basis."

The HCPL is looking for sponsors to make the calendars available — for free — to as many residents as possible in 2012.

Photos must be submitted by the last day of each month at noon, and must be in high-resolution digital format. If people are featured in your photos, you must include a consent form for each person with your submission.

Include your name, phone number and image title with each entry. Send entries and obtain consent forms by e-mailing khardin@hallcounty.org, or submit your entry on a disk to the HCPL main office, located at 1086 Rainey St. in Gainesville.

Submitted photos are property of HCPL and will not be returned. Submission gives HCPL permission to use photographs on its website, in brochures and the calendar. Photos must be appropriate for viewers of all ages.

Participation is free. Call 770-535-8280 for rules or more information.
