Author Kay to visit Clarkesville Library on March 3

The Friends of the Clarkesville Library will present noted Georgia author Terry Kay as speaker at its annual Book and Author Luncheon at noon March 3 in the Brookside Dining Room at Piedmont College in Demorest.

Kay's first novel, "The Year the Lights Came On," was published in 1976. Since then, he has published 13 other books. His signature novel, "To Dance With the White Dog," was released in 1990 and was subsequently presented as a movie for CBS television starring Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.

His most recent books are "The Greats of Cuttercane" and "Bogmeadows Wish," both released in 2011, and "The Book of Marie," released in 2007. All will be available for purchase and signing at the luncheon.

The Book and Author Luncheon is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Clarkesville Habersham County Library. Tickets are $25 each and include a buffet lunch.

Tickets may be purchased at the Clarkesville Library through noon Feb. 29. they also may also be ordered by mail at Clarkesville Library, 178 East Green St., Clarkesville, GA 30523. Include your name and address, phone number, e-mail address, the number of tickets wanted and a check or money order payable to the Friends of the Clarkesville Library. Enclose a self-addressed No. 10 stamped envelope if you want to receive your tickets by mail, or indicate that you will pick them up at will call at the event. Mail orders must be received by Feb. 28.
