ATHENS — Art lovers can enjoy a new creation from, AHA! (Athens Has Art) Friday through Dec. 20, presented by the Company, an "existential, not-so-secret society of artists and intellectuals."

N. Ellen Daniels, founding member of the Company, said the group includes 12 members, each asked to produce an activity or gathering encouraging creativity in which the other Company members participate.

The show, "This-Way-Out," is the first the Company has produced collectively, Daniels said.

"AHA! is intended as a gift to honor our artist friends: Jennie Evans, Ian Guthrie, Robert Sparrow Jones, Meghan Morris, Audra Rich, Margaret Schreiber, John Schweppe, and Terry Rowlett," she said.

The work of local Athens artists Ainhoa Bilbao Canup, Ian Guthrie, Audra Rich and John Schweppe will be sponsored during the AHA! event.

Works presented will span media from oil on canvas to watercolor, and range in price from $25 to $850.

The artists will be introduced at a reception from 7-10 p.m. Friday.

"We are grateful for the transformative and transcendent power of art, which our friends are able to convey," Daniels said, "We intend for this event to honor the artists and their works, and to introduce their manifestations of spirit through physical means to the Athens community, and the space at 680 West Broad Street now called This-Way-Out."
