Trojans use balanced offense to win scrimmage

North Hall wide receiver Darius Curry had a 10-yard touchdown reception and the Trojans defeated Forsyth Central 10-0 in a scrimmage game called at halftime due to weather on Friday in Cumming. C.J. Curry, a junior had four catches for 66 yards for the Trojans.

The Trojans were balanced on offense with 125 passing yards and 119 rushing. Rushing for North Hall, Shane Doster had three carries for 69 yards, along with an early field goal he kicked to take a 3-0 lead. Amin Aziz ran three times for 39 yards for the Trojans.

North Hall junior quarterback Kanler Coker was 9-for-15 passing for 125 yards and a touchdown.

On defense, the Trojans held Forsyth Central to only six first downs and only 40 yards.

“I felt like we were real balanced on offense, and the defense really flew to the ball,” North Hall coach Bob Christmas said. “We have things we want to work on, but I was pleased with the effort.”

North Hall plays host to Jefferson on Sept. 3 at The Brickyard to open the season.
