Redmond earns eighth win for Gwinnett

Gwinnett Braves first baseman Brandon Hicks came through with a two-run double in the third inning and 3-1 win against the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Yankees on Monday in Scranton, Pa.

Todd Redmond notched his eighth win of the season for the Triple-A G-Braves (63-52) by throwing seven innings and allowed six hits and no runs. He matched a single-game career high in strikeouts with 10.

Center fielder Matt Young was 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored for Gwinnett.

Shortstop Tyler Pastornicky went hitless for Gwinnett and had his hitting streak stopped at 12 games.

Gwinnett faces Scranton-Wilkes-Barre in a doubleheader starting at 5:35 today.
