Flowery Branch High graduate and University of North Georgia standout Ishmael Hollis has agreed to terms with S.C. Lusitania Expert, allowing Hollis to continue his professional career in Portugal.
The Portuguese side competes as a member of the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol, the highest level of basketball in the country.
Hollis averaged 29.5 points, 10 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game for the South Metro Pirates in the Australia State League last summer.
While at UNG, Hollis represented the school in the Reese’s NCAA Division II College All-Star game in 2014 after being named a First-Team Peach Belt Conference All-Conference selection as a senior.
Hollis was the Peach Belt’s second leading scorer (19.8 points per game) and fourth leading rebounder (9.1 rebounds per game) as a senior.
He posted 10 double-doubles in 2013-14 and garnered a pair of postseason accolades having landed a spot on the Daktronics All-Region team as a second team selection, and was named to the NABC’s Coaches’ Division II All-District first team.
