Local golf: CMGA played at Chattahoochee

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two best-ball, net strokes game Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course in Gainesville.

The team of Bob Henderson, AJ Kiker, Roy Lyle and Dick Freeman and Bob Watson, Johnny Little, Ed Pledger and Stan Davidson, Jr. tied for first place.

The team of Glynn Rogers, Eddie Johnson and Leroy Harper finished third. Fourth place went to the team of Don Wells, Jimmy Johnson, Gene Weschler and Jim Hesser.

Closest to the pin winners were Weschler (No. 3), Harper (No. 5), Bill Ingrim (No. 12) and AJ Kiker (No. 17).

WEDNESDAY DOGFIGHT: The team of Roger Stapp, Terry Clegg, Ken Kaper and Don Schrum won first place at Wednesday’s event at Chicopee Woods.

Len Kaper won first place in the individual event, while Bob Arendt and Mike Tilson tied for second.

Clegg finished fourth individually with Schrum and Tommy Calhoun placing fifth.

DPG GOLF GROUP: This week’s DPG Golf Group played two matches Wednesday and Thursday at Chicopee Woods.

On Wednesday, Charley Kilby, Doug Padgett, and Steve Knowles tied for first place in the individual match.

In the team competition, Bob Kidd and Doug Padgett took first-place honors. Horace Smallwood and Denis Jordan captured second place.

Thursday’s match was won by Dwight Miller with a score of even. Bob Kidd took second place honors with a score of -3.

Regional events
