The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two best ball net strokes game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
First place went to the team of Ben Brooks, Paul Payne, Don Wells and John Williams with a score of minus 35. Second place went to the team of Jim Carroll, Dennis Momper, Jere Cochran and Buzz Hansen with a score of minus 30. The teams of A.J. Kiker, Gary Myers, Ed Pledger and Gene Weschler and George Clegg, Joe Kolesar, Gary Palmer and Leroy Harper tied for third with minus 28.
Three teams finished in a tie for fifth, with the team of Eddie Johnson, Roy Bartlett, Stu Virgin and Dick Bachman, the team of Glynn Rogers, Jeremy Ermlich, Claude Schneider and Dave Long and the team of Bob Watson, Bob Henderson, Roy Lyle and Bill Ramsey all finishing with a minus 27.
Closest to the pin winners were J.B. Johnson (No. 2), Pledger (No. 5), Tony Denote (No. 12) and Marty Anderson (No. 17).
Luna’s Tuesday Group
The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played this week at Chestatee Golf Course in Dawsonville.
First place went to the team of Rob Emerson, Gene Cobb, Cleve Brown and Ken Chahoy. The team of Bob Norton, Don Williams, Jerry Johns and Don Rogers finished second. Third place went to the team of Sam McGee, Steve Hill, Grady Smith and Jim Walters.
Closest to the pin winners were Don Smallwood (No. 3), Gerald Gailey (No. 7), Juan Luna (No. 11), Norton (No. 15) and Emerson (No. 17).
Wednesday Dogfight
The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played this past week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.
First place went to the team of Justin Bates, Chris Porter, Neil Tolbert and Slatz Gaines with a score of plus 18. Second place went to the team Josh Armour, Bill Corbin, Jerry Horton and Simmie Miller with a score of plus 17. Third place finished in a tie between the team of Dave Sellers, Frank Bambarger, Tim Reed and Mike Tilson and the team of Greg Lee, Wayne Groebli, Terry Clegg and Vince Jonte
Horton finished first in individual scoring with a plus 11. Tilson finished second with a plus 10, Porter finished third with a plus nine and Roger Stapp finish fourth with a plus eight. Fifth place finished a in tie between Tolbert and Dan Arthurs with a score of plus six and seventh place finished in a tie between Bob Arendt, Wayne Groebli and Yoko Komoto with a plus five.
Holes-in-one
Golfer Art Kunzer shot a hole-in-one on March 20 at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. Kunzer scored the hole-in-one the 17th hole with a seven iron. Witness were Frank Patton and Tallmadge Garrison.
Golfer Billy Williams shot a hole in one on Wednesday at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Williams shot the hole in one on hole No. 4, using a seven iron and a Titleist 3 Pro V1 ball.
