Prep scoreboard: North Hall girls record 10th shutout

Class AAA’s No. 3 ranked North Hall High girls tennis team remained undefeated on the season and recorded their 10th shutout with a win against Chestatee on Thursday in Gainesville.

Cara Reece, Hayley Crowder and Lauren Hodges each won in singles for the Lady Trojans (14-0, 10-0 Region 7-AAA).

North Hall completed the sweep in doubles with wins from Lauren Bolton/Courtney Wiley and Jessica Butts/Rachael Langman.

North Hall plays host to Gainesville at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

North Hall boys 5, Chestatee 0

The Trojans clinched the No. 1 seed in the 7-AAA tournament with a win against Chestatee on Thursday in Gainesville.

North Hall (9-4, 9-1 Region 7-AAA) swept the War Eagles in singles with Eli LoCicero, Clayton Nedza and Mitch McCray each winning in straight sets.

The Trojans won both matches in doubles with wins from Jim Butts/Joe Nedza and Michael Franze/Scott Swanson.

North Hall visits Gainesville at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Chestatee plays host to East Hall at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Gainesville boys 5, Flowery Branch 0

James Wassel, Andreo Belch and Ryan Joiner each won singles matches in straight sets for the Red Elephants in their shutout victory against Flowery Branch on Thursday at Longwood Park in Gainesville.

Gainesville (10-1, 7-1 Region 7-AAA) completed the sweep in doubles with wins from Louis Hokayem/Graham Williams and Robbie Bilbrough/Drew Denning.

Gainesville visits West Forsyth at 4 p.m. Monday. Flowery Branch plays host to Chestatee at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Flowery Branch girls 3, Gainesville 2

Jennica Ramey and Megan Grewett each won singles matches for the Lady Falcons in their win against Gainesville on Thursday in Flowery Branch.

Nicki Price/Morgan Reed won at No. 1 doubles for Flowery Branch (3-7). Darby Jackson and Elizabeth Hood won at No. 2 doubles for Gainesville.

Alee Boychuk was the only winner in singles for the Lady Red Elephants.

Flowery Branch visits Lakeview at 4 p.m. Monday.

Johnson boys 3, West Hall 2

The Knights swept in singles with wins from Brandon Sloan, Bill Hulsey and Seth Hester to edge West Hall on Thursday in Oakwood.

The Spartans (8-3, 7-3 Region 7-AAA) took doubles with wins from Derek Weatherly/Jimmy Kincaid and Kyle Weatherly/Ricky Vital.

Johnson (11-4, 8-2 Region 7-AAA) plays host to North Forsyth at 4 p.m. Monday. West Hall visits North Forsyth at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

West Hall girls 4, Johnson 1

Kaylin Walters and Chelsea Britt each won singles matches for the Lady Spartans on Thursday in Oakwood.

West Hall (8-4) swept in doubles with wins from Alex Wright/Ali Parham and Samantha Lingle/Ellie Smith.

Katie Clark was the lone winner for the Knights (4-9, 2-8 Region 7-AAA).

West Hall travels to St. Francis at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Johnson plays host to North Forsyth at 4 p.m. Monday.

Lakeview Academy boys 5, Commerce 0 (Wednesday)

Nekhil Patel, Mike Fowler and Todd Williams each won singles matches for the Lions on Tuesday.

Lakeview Academy completed the sweep in doubles with wins from Sean Casey/James Marks and Alex Klecan/Matt Morris.

Lakeview Academy girls 5, Commerce 0 (Wednesday)

Nancy Lewallen, Niki Patel and Liz Presley each won singles matches for the Lions on Tuesday.

In doubles, the teams of Molly Smith/Jackie Burleson and Paige Atherton/Nyari Chanakira each won to complete the sweep for Lakeview.

Chestatee girls 5, East Hall 2

The Lady War Eagles scored five goals in the first half to defeat East Hall early on Thursday night in Gainesville.

Kelsey Neukum, Megan Fligg, Abi Mills, Morgan Dooley and Lauren Ables each scored once for Chestatee (7-6, 4-1 Region 7-AAA).

Patricia Castrejon scored twice for the Vikings (0-7, 0-6 Region 7-AAA).

Chestatee plays host to North Hall at 6 p.m. today. East Hall plays host to North Hall at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Buford girls 11, Hebron Christian 0

Maria Petroni led Class A/AA’s No. 3 ranked Lady Wolves with four goals in their win against Hebron Christian on Thursday in Dacula.

Jessica Navarro contributed to Buford’s (10-2-1, 5-1 Region 6-AA) offense with two goals. Jacey Chandler, Katie Garth, Elizabeth Darden, Jaime Clay and Justin Clay each scored one goal.

Rachael Kaplan recorded the shutout for the Lady Wolves with six saves.

Buford visits Providence Christian at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Buford boys 4, Hebron Christian 2

Cole Chandler scored two goals for Class A/AA’s No. 9 ranked Wolves while Tony Arroyo and Gabino Alanis scored once in Buford’s (8-5, 3-3 Region 6-AA) win against Hebron Christian on Thursday in Dacula.

Buford plays host to West Hall at 5 p.m. today.

Lakeview boys 4, Pickens 0

Charlie Parks led the Lions with two goals while Yannic Hulsdonk and Austin White each scored once for Lakeview Academy (2-9, 2-4 Region 8-A) on Thursday night in Gainesville.

James Bagwell recorded the shutout for the Lions with five saves.

Lakeview visits Dawson County at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lakeview girls 1, Pickens 1

Lakeview Academy’s Jilly Pascual scored with three minutes left to play to salvage a tie Thursday night in Gainesville.

Ivy Godfrey made nine saves in goal for the Lions (4-6-1, 2-3-1 Region 8-A).

Lakeview Academy visits Dawson County at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

North Hall boys 174, West Hall 178


North Hall’s Jimmy Lloyd was low medallist with a 38 on Thursday at Chestatee Golf Course in Dawsonville.

Will England led the Spartans with a 40.

North Hall visits Achasta Golf Course at 3:30 p.m. Thursday against Lumpkin County.

West Hall girls 113, North Hall 120

Savannah Rowe was the low medallist for West Hall with a 54 and Hannah Derthick shot a 59 for the Spartans on Thursday at Chestatee Golf Course in Dawsonville.

West Hall (6-4) visits Royal Lakes Golf Course at 3:30 p.m. Thursday against North Forsyth.
