North Hall’s state championship baseball series in Class 3A against Pierce County has been scheduled to start with a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, as announced by the GHSA on Friday. If a third game is needed in the best-of-three series, it will be Saturday at a time still to be determined.

State championship series are played at a neutral site, four held in Rome and four in Savannah.

The Trojans, who are looking for their first state championship in baseball, advanced to the finals with a 10-1 and 3-0 semifinal sweep against Calhoun on Wednesday in Gainesville. Meanwhile, Pierce County swept Coahulla Creek 5-1 and 5-0 in Blackshear.

North Hall has won each of its last three rounds in the playoffs with a two-game sweep. Pierce County has swept each of the last two rounds, beating Greater Atlanta Christian 8-4 and 10-1 in the quarterfinals.

North Hall advanced to its only previous state championship appearance after taking a best-of-three quarterfinal series against Pierce County in 2013 in Blackshear.
