Johnson High School boys basketball coach Tim Slater will not be returning next season.
Athletic Director Jonathan Edwards announced Tuesday in a Hall County Schools news release that Slater resigned from his teaching and coaching position at the school to accept another position in a different district. Also in the release, Edwards went on to thank Slater for his contributions to the program and wished him and his family the best in the future.
Assistant coach Drew Lawrence will take over coaching duties until a replacement is found.
Slater, who was the successor of Jeff Steele, compiled a 16-36 record in two seasons with the Knights. He served as a coaching assistant at Buford High before making the move to Johnson.
