Jefferson senior Chris Beck threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts en route to an 11-0 win against North Oconee on Thursday  at Banks County High.

With the win, the Dragons claimed the Region 8-AA championship.

Jamie Sexton led the Dragons (20-3) at the plate with a two-run home run and scored three runs. Lucas Redd drove in a pair of runs and also scored once.

Jefferson plays host to Model (15-9) in the opening round of the Class AA state playoffs in a best-of-three series next Friday at Horace Jackson Field.

The Dragons secured home field advantage in the opening round of the Class AA state playoffs with its win against the Leopards Thursday in Homer. Chris Swancey threw a complete game and only allowed one earned run for Jefferson.

Chris Beck had a home run and five RBIs for the Dragons. Lucas Redd finished the game with three hits and an RBI for Jefferson.

Kyle Smith and Justin Bowen each had a home run for Banks County.
