HS Scoreboard: Sam Carpenter throws no-hitter for Gainesville against Cedar Shoals

Red Elephants senior struck out 12 for a complete-game performance

Sam Carpenter led the Gainesville High baseball team with a 12-strikeout no-hitter in a 16-0 win over Cedar Shoals on Thursday.

Carpenter also had two hits, a solo home run and two RBIs in a game that only went five innings.

Ross Tipton had two hits and three RBIs, while Fedrick Cardona and Marshall Scott each finished with two hits.

Gainesville (16-4, 13-2 8-AAAAA) hosts Cedar Shoals 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
