HS Scoreboard: North Hall baseball team earns 7-3 victory over Flowery Branch

Austin Adams was 3 for 3 with a double, while Drew Atha added a double and RBI for North Hall in a 7-3 win against Flowery Branch on Wednesday at Jody Davis Field. Dylan Lavender had three hits with a double, two RBIs for the Trojans in their season opener. Reese Olson drove in a run for North Hall. Fowler Brooks and Jackson Latty had a hit for North Hall.

For the Falcons, Cam Holmes and Kohlton Hamann each had two hits.

CHESTATEE 4, APALACHEE 2: Austin Sargent pitched six innings of two-hit ball, allowed no earned runs and struck out nine batters for the War Eagles. Braxton Nicholson earned the save for Chestatee, collecting two strikeouts in the seventh inning.

Sargent picked up a two-RBI single in the top of the third to score Christian Carter and Cameron Wilson. Chestatee took the lead when Joe Sutton batted in Wilson for the go-ahead run. Sutton later scored on a fielding error for the 4-2 edge.

Chestatee (1-0) faces East Hall 5:55 p.m. Thursday at Piedmont College.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 13, FULTON LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 0: Watson Thomas drove in three runs, and Alex Kerns pitched a one-hitter for the Eagles on Wednesday in East Point. Riverside Military scored three runs in both the third and fifth inning.

Soccer

JOHNSON BOYS 1, WEST HALL 0: Fabian Abarca scored the game-winner, while goalkeeper Gerardo Molina recorded three saves for the Knights.

JOHNSON GIRLS 9, WEST HALL 0: Evelin Avitia and Itzel Rivera both finished with a hat trick on Wednesday in Oakwood. Maria Rivera, Dani Malone and Jennifer Mendoza each added a goal for the Lady Knights (2-0). Malone led Johnson with four assists. Lady Knights goalkeeper Hannah Hodge held the Lady Spartans to one shot on goal.

On Friday, Johnson faces Lumpkin County in Dahlonega.

CHESTATEE 2, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 1: The Eagles fell behind 2-0 with a man down due to a red-card offense, but fought back to 2-1 late in the second half as Jorge Quesada converted a penalty kick.

Riverside will next host Holy Innocents at 4:45 p.m. Friday.

Tennis

The Lakeview Academy tennis teams both picked up wins over West Hall on Wednesday. The Lions will next play Tuesday in a region match against Providence.
