High school Scoreboard: North Hall's boys tennis team on to region championship
North Hall and Lumpkin County in region title match

North Hall’s boys tennis team will play Greater Atlanta Christian in the Region 7-AAA title match at 7 p.m. today at Dawson County. The Trojans (9-9) earned their spot in the championship by defeating Lumpkin County 5-0 on Tuesday in Dawsonville.
Masa Kobayashi (6-4, 6-3), Christian Boychuk (6-3, 6-0) and Kody Dills (6-1, 7-6 (3)) won in singles for North Hall. Daniel Martin/Shawn Wallhausen (6-1, 6-1) and Adam Turcotte/Ethan Surles (6-2, 6-2) won in doubles for the Trojans.

FLOWERY BRANCH 1, BUFORD 0: Sean Akins drove in the game-winning run for Flowery Branch (12-11, 4-4 Region 8-AAAAA) in the top of the eighth inning on Wednesday.
Flowery Branch plays Clarke Central at 5:55 p.m. today in Athens.

JOHNSON 14, CEDAR SHOALS 2: Tim Smith was 3 for 3 with a double for Johnson (5-18) in Wednesday’s win. Payden Grizzle was 3 for 5 for the night, posting a double with two RBIs for the Knights.
Johnson plays Walnut Grove at 5:55 p.m. Friday in Walnut Grove.

GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN 6, NORTH HALL 4: Wesley Smith drove in three runs to lead the Trojans (19-7, 11-2 Region 7-AAA).
Corban Meeler pitched six innings and threw four strikeouts for the Trojans. But Greater Atlanta Christian scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to claim the win.
North Hall plays Dawson County at 5:55 p.m. on Monday in Dawsonville.

ST. PIUS 4, JEFFERSON 3: Justin Cole drove in three runs for the Dragons (15-4, 6-5  Region 8-AAAA) in Wednesday’s loss.
Jefferson hosts St. Pius at 5:55 p.m. today in Jefferson.

NORTH HALL BOYS, 2, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 0: Alec Volle and Yexon Cruz scored both goals in the Trojans’ shutout victory.
Erin Sanchez and Joel Barrientos both had an assist for the Trojans, who visit Salem at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Conyers.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 5, NORTH HALL 0: North Hall’s next match is against Salem at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Conyers.

Track and Field
Riverside Military Academy took second place in the Creek View Last Chance invitational in Canton on Wednesday, finishing with 118 points. Charles Dimnwaobi won the 200 with a time of 22.9 for the Eagles.

Dimnwaobi finished third in the high jump, clearing five feet, 10 inches. He also placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.18 seconds. Dimnwaobi also anchored the 4X100 relay to first-place time of 43.9 seconds.

Demarko Hopper won the 300-meter dash with a time of 43.91 seconds for Riverside. Issac Teasley jumped 40 feet, 6 inches to land a second place spot in the triple jump for the Eagles.

Riverside competes in the Gary Matthews Invitational on Saturday in Oglethorpe County.
