The Gainesville boys and girls track teams swept the the Habersham Invitational on Saturday.

First-place finishers included Desmond Hamilton in the long jump (20-feet-7), triple jump (42-3) and high jump (5-8), Dallas Defoor in the 100-meter dash (11.53 seconds) and 200 (23.44), Marquel Woodard in the 1,600 (5:03). In addition, the 4x100, 4x400 and shuttle relays teams also placed first to give the Red Elephants a total of 83 points..

The Gainesville girls track team won with a point total of 79 points. First-place winners included Tierra Hill in the high jump (4-10) and 100-meter dash (13.62), Sara Hayes in the 1,600 (5:58) and Denisha Lyles in the triple jump (31-7). The 4x100 team, 4x800 team and shuttle hurdle relay team also placed first.

Gainesville travels to Jefferson on Monday for another meet.

Soccer

CHESTATEE GIRLS 6, FRANKLIN COUNTY 2: Alexis Rebollar scored four goals to lead the Chestatee High girls soccer team to a win over the Franklin County Lady Lions on Saturday.

Morgan Dooley added a goal and assist for Chestatee (6-3), which hosts Rabun Gap at 6:45 p.m. Monday

Golf

LADY INDIANS PLACE FOURTH: Morgan Wood’s 104 led the Lumpkin County High girls golf team to a fourth-place finish Saturday at the Bronco Invitational in Snellville.

Wood finished fourth individually, while her teammate Taylor Gooch finished ninth with a score of 110. Brookwood won the event with a score of 191.

Lumpkin County plays White County at 4 p.m. Thursday at Mossy Creek.

Baseball

WALNUT GROVE 8, JOHNSON 5 (Friday): Trae Wilson hit a two-run home run to go along with a pair of singles in a loss Friday night in Monroe.

ELBERT COUNTY 5, JEFFERSON 1: Drew Carson had the lone hit and RBI for the Dragons during their loss Friday in Elberton.

Tennis

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, APALACHEE 0 (Friday): Anna Kate Shaw, Elizabeth Mallory and Morgan Reed all won in straight sets Friday. Flowery Branch also swept the doubles matches with the teams of Dani Taylor/Durden Smith and Madison Smith/Bekki Benton winning in straight sets.
