Class AAA's No. 6-ranked Gainesville lost to Lumpkin County 9-7 on Wednesday at Ivey-Watson Field. Will Maddox led the Red Elephants (6-2, 4-2 8-AAA), going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Skyler Weber was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.

Shad Petree took the loss, giving up five runs on three hits and five walks while striking out three in 1 2/3 innings.

Gainesville hosts Oconee County 5:55 p.m. Friday.

JACKSON COUNTY 6, ELBERT COUNTY 4: John Fernandez pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed only one run to earn the win on Wednesday in Jefferson. Austin Robinson had a pair of hits, including a double and two RBIs for the Panthers (3-7, 3-4 Region 8-AA).

Tony Holton and Quinn Grogan each had two hits and a double for Jackson County. Trey Sorrells had a double and drove in two runs for the Panthers, which visit Oglethorpe County at 5:30 on Friday.

WALNUT GROVE 4, CHESTATEE 0: Brice Beck had the lone hit for the War Eagles on Wednesday in Loganville. Chestatee plays host to Stephens County at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.

UNION COUNTY 6, RABUN COUNTY 2: Zach Odom went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, triple and three RBIs to lead the Panthers (7-2, 3-1 8-AA) to a road win. Philip Stubblefield was 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Trey Thomas got the win, pitching seven innings and allowing two hits and no earned runs while striking out eight and walking one. The Panthers host Banks County 5:55 p.m. Friday.

BUFORD 18, CROSS KEYS 0 (3 innings): The host Wolves (6-1, 1-0 6-AA) put up 14 runs in the first inning to run away with the game. Brian Malone was 3-for-3 with a home run, double and six RBIs, Nic Dlugasch was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Troy Herterick was 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead Buford. Tyler White picked up the win, striking out and allowing two hits in three innings. Buford plays at Central Gwinnett at 5:30 p.m. today.

NORTH FORSYTH BOYS 4, JOHNSON 1:
Carlos Flores and Cristian Delgado picked up a win at No. 2 doubles for the Knights (4-6, 3-3 Region 8-AAA) on Wednesday. Johnson faces Monroe Area at 4 p.m. today at Alberta Banks Park.
NORTH FORSYTH GIRLS 3, JOHNSON 2: The Lady Knights' wins came from Claire Crain/Harlee Robson and Emma Rowlett/Carlyn Ivey in doubles on Wednesday at Central Park in Cumming.

Golf

NORTH HALL BOYS 186, WEST HALL 194: At Chestatee Golf Club, the Trojans got counting scores from Trey Forrester (43), Clay Hoffman (47), Austin Herring (48) and Riche Mote (56). The Spartans were led by Justin Harkleroad (47) and Kip O'Kelly (49). North Hall plays in the Chattahoochee Invitational Saturday 12:30 p.m.
NORTH FORSYTH GIRLS 100, LUMPKIN COUNTY 111, CHATTAHOOCHEE 120: Kaylen Butler (55), Morgan Wood (56) and Taylor Gooch (56) scored for the Lady Indians, who play Pickens County 4 p.m. at Achasta.

Soccer

JOHNSON GIRLS 9, STEPHENS COUNTY 0: Bethany Johnson had a hat trick in the first half alone on Wednesday. Kalyn Dumanowsky and Kayla Madsen each added a pair of goals for the Lady Knights.
NORTH HALL BOYS 3, LUMPKIN COUNTY 2: Adrian Guadarama scored in the final minute of overtime to send the Trojans to victory on Wednesday at The Brickyard. In regulation, Tony Gonzalez and Guadarama scored for North Hall, which visits Monroe Area at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
OCONEE COUNTY GIRLS 5, CHESTATEE 2 (Tuesday): Alexis Rebollar scored for the Lady War Eagles (4-3, 2-3 Region 8-AAA) on an assist from Kelsey Neukum in the first half, then again in the second half on a goal unassisted on Tuesday in Watkinsville.
WEST HALL BOYS 4, WHITE COUNTY 1: The Spartans (5-3-1, 3-2 8-AAA) got two goals and an assist from Chandler Ligas and a goal each from Edgar Jaimes and Omar Castillo. Jaimes also had an assist. The Spartans host Stephens County Friday 7:30 p.m.
WEST HALL GIRLS 2, WHITE COUNTY 1: The Lady Spartans (6-3, 3-2) got goals from Monica Suarez and Tania Perez. They'll host Stephens County Friday 5:30 p.m.
