The Lakeview baseball team continued its region winning streak with a 7-2 victory against Towns County on Saturday.

Tyler Ward earned the win on the mound for the Lions (17-1, 11-0 Region 8-A) going six innings and striking out 10.

Ross Beigler led Lakeview at the player going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two singles and a double.

Tyler Young and Dalton Munday each went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Lakeview returns to action at 5 p.m. Monday at Banks County.

Gainesville 16, West Hall 1

Gainesville scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning en route to a 15-run win against West Hall on Saturday.

Will Maddox led the Red Elephants (11-8, 11-7 Region 7-AAA) at the plate going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and six RBIs.

Stephen Mason, who was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts, went 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Sloan Strickland and Mark Casper each homered for Gainesville and while scoring two runs and accounting for three RBIs each.

Gainesville returns to action at 7 p.m. Monday at North Hall.
