East Hall girls outlast North Hall in OT

Jasmine Jenkins hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime, and the East Hall girls were able to top North Hall 60-56 on Saturday at home.

Jenkins finished with 21 points, and Morgan Jackson added 19 for the Lady Vikings (17-3). North Hall was led by the twin tandem of McKenna and Mary Kate Rushton, who scored 26 and 20 points, respectively.

East Hall plays Banks County at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Homer. North Hall (16-6, 7-0 8-AAA North) hosts White County on Tuesday in Gainesville.

NORTH HALL BOYS 79, EAST HALL 72: The Trojans outscored the Vikings by 12 in the second half en route to a win at East Hall on Saturday, extending North Hall's (19-3, 7-0) winning streak to 12 games.

Ebo Smith led the Trojans with 32 points, 24 in the second half, and 12 rebounds. Freshman Avery Cagle and Preston Smith each added 12, while senior Payton Cagle, back from an ACL injury, scored eight.

Hayden Chapman led East Hall with 20 points.

East Hall visits Banks County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Homer, and North Hall hosts White County.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 41, ATHENS ACADEMY 39: Kaylee McClendon converted a layup late in the fourth quarter, and the Lakeview Academy girls escaped with win over Athens Academy on Saturday in Gainesville.

Kelsey Gilbert led the Lady Lions (13-7, 8-3 8A-A) with 13 points, and McClendon added eight.

Lakeview hosts Towns County at 7 p.m. on Friday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 74, ATHENS ACADEMY 44: The Lions erupted to a 21-point lead at the half and never looked back, winning easily at home on Saturday.

Austin Montgomery led the Lions (17-4, 11-1) with 19 points. He was helped by Austin Pearson (14 points) and Joel Larsen (13 points).

The Lions host Towns County at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

BUFORD BOYS 43, WESLEYAN 40: Isaiah Williams knocked down a 3-point jumper with just three seconds left to give the Wolves (16-5, 9-1 6-AA) a win at Wesleyan on Saturday in Norcross. Williams finished with 13 points, and T.J. Shipes added 10.

The Wolves host Decatur on Tuesday in Buford.

WESLEYAN GIRLS 60, BUFORD 49: A slow start in the first quarter resulted in a loss for the Lady Wolves at Wesleyan on Saturday.

Kaela Davis scored 17 points to lead Buford (14-7, 10-0 6-AA), which hosts Decatur at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

STEPHENS COUNTY BOYS 51, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 42: Despite a strong effort in the fourth quarter, Riverside (5-8) fell on the road Saturday in Toccoa.

The Eagles were led by Dyeus Martin's 14 points. Riverside hosts Commerce in Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

ST. PIUS X GIRLS 50, CHESTATEE 30: The Lady War Eagles trailed by just six points at the half, but were unable to withstand a strong second half on the road Saturday.
Maegan Kenimer scored 12 points for Chestatee (13-9, 3-4 8-AAA North), and Erin Clifford added 10.

Chestatee visits Franklin County at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Carnesville.
