High School Scoreboard: Flowery Branch girls top West Forsyth in Thanksgiving tourney

Breanna Locke led the Flowery Branch (2-0) girls with 16 points in a 58-48 victory over West Forsyth Monday in the North Forsyth Thanksgiving Tournament on Monday in Cumming.

Julianne Sutton contributed 14 points for the Lady Falcons in the win.

Next up, Flowery Branch will face the winner of a Greater Atlanta Christian and North Forsyth at 6:30 p.m. today in Cumming.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 55, STEPHENS COUNTY 49: The Lady Lions (1-0) took down the Lady Indians in the Piedmont Hardwood Classic at Piedmont College in Demorest Monday.

Hanna Grogan scored 35 of Lakeview’s 55 points. The next highest scorer for the Lady Lions was Tori Taylor with 6.

Mya Cleveland and Kentasia Trimier notched 13 and 12, respectively, for Stephens County.

Next up, Lakeview will face East Hall in the championship game of the Piedmont Hardwood Classic at 7 p.m. today.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 67, STEPHENS COUNTY 57: Drew Cottrell led the Lions (1-1) with 17 points as they won their semifinal game of the Piedmont Hardwood Classic at Piedmont College in Demorest Monday.

Evan Pitts added 13 points for Lakeview.

The Lions will face East Hall in the championship game of the tournament at 8:30 p.m. today.

EAST HALL 66, RABUN COUNTY 55: Ashlyn Ellison led all scorers with 28 points as the Lady Vikings defeated the Lady Wildcats in the semifinals of the Piedmont Hardwood Classic.

Carly Winters put 18 points on the board for the Lady Vikings and Jenny Edwards contributed 14.

East Hall will meet Lakeview Academy at 7 p.m. today at Piedmont College in Demorest.

WEST HALL GIRLS 63, CARVER (Ala.) 48: The Lady Spartans opened their season with a victory at the Emerald Coast Classic Thanksgiving Tournament at Choctaw High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Anna McKendree led West Hall with 24 points. Macy Passmore scored 13.

West Hall will be playing the winner of Choctaw High and West Florida in the second round of the tournament at 7 p.m. tonight.

LUMPKIN COUNTY BOYS 72, TALLULAH FALLS 33: Jack Howard scored a game-high 24 points for the Indians, while Zack Pulley posted 14 points.

DAWSON COUNTY 52, UNION COUNTY 41: The Tigers (2-1) topped the Panthers (1-1) on their home floor Monday behind 16 points from Ryan Gallenkamp.

Cullen Reed posted 12 points for the Tigers.

Austin Shook led the Panthers with 12 points.

Dawson County will play Rabun County at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in Tiger.
