Chestatee High’s wrestling team earned a pair of big wins Monday, defeating Stephens County 64-10 and Gainesville 62-12 in a tri-match at Gainesville.

Ed Villeda, Aaron Anderson, Jose Reyes, Daniel Moreno and Bert Castruipa led War Eagles, with each wrestler recording two victories by pin. Garrett Bennett, J.W. Gilbert and P.J. White also scored two wins. Bennett had one pin and one win by decision, Gilbert one via pin and major decision, and White recorded two decisions.

Other Chestatee winners included Zach Chadwick (pin), Kyle Wesley (pin), Dylan Brock (pin), Cory Tran (pin), Cody Etrus (pin), Brock White (pin) and Malik Wesley (pin).

Chestatee is now 17-7 in duals competitions this season. The War Eagles return to action at 5 p.m today at Cedar Shoals High in Athens.

Basketball

RIVERSIDE 52, DAWSON COUNTY 41: The Eagles remained unbeaten in subregion play Monday, led by 18 points from Dylen Setzekorn.

Tarvin Dukes added 13 points and Richard Tribble had 11 points in the winning effort.

Riverside (12-3, 5-0 8A-AA) plays host to Union County at 6:30 tonight.
