Chestatee splits volleyball tri-match with Cedar Shoals and Jefferson

Logan Wiggins had 14 kills, six aces and a block for the Lady War Eagles in a win against Cedar Shoals (25-9, 25-3) and loss to Jefferson (25-11, 25-11) on Thursday. 

Also for Chestatee, Abby Allgood had seven aces, while Anna Grace Edmonds added five aces. 

GAINESVILLE DROPS REGION OPENER: Isabella Garrish had two aces, 19 assists and 11 digs for the Lady Red Elephants in a loss to Lambert (25-18, 25-20, 14-25, 25-10) on Thursday. 

Ansley Turner added two kills, 13 digs and an ace for Gainesville, while Lauren Ware finished with four kills and three digs. 

Lauren Teasley finished with seven kills and four blocks for the Lady Red Elephants, while Kendal Glasper had five kills and a block. 

Up next, Gainesville (18-4, 0-1 Region 6-7A) visits South Forsyth on Thursday.


BUFORD 10, LANIER 4: Taylor Malvin’s inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning sparked the top-ranked Lady Wolves on Thursday. Mackenzie Pickens followed with a triple and scored on an infield single by Chloe Hatcher. 

The Lady Wolves (13-2, 8-0 Region 8-6A) scored six runs in the sixth inning to make the final score. 

Up next, Buford faces Peachtree Ridge at 9 a.m. and Forsyth Central at 1 p.m. today in Buford as part of the Brookwood Invitational. 

High school scores can be submitted to by 10:30 p.m. each night.
