Buford High softball coach Tony Wolfe picked up his 300th victory Monday with a 3-1 win over South Forsyth High in Buford.
Wolfe’s record now sits at 300-39-2 in the second week of his 10th season coaching softball. During that time, he’s won seven region titles, nine state championships and only lost six times at home.
In Monday’s contest, Logan Caymol (2-0) pitched her second complete game of the young season, giving up seven hits, one earned run and two walks, while recording a strikeout.
Leading the Lady Wolves (6-0) at the plate, Mariah Wicker was 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored. Samantha Thomas was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Hannah Jo Hyatt was 1 for 3 at the dish with a double and an RBI, while Shea Bayreuther was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a stolen base.
Buford will play Grayson High at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mill Creek High School as the Lady Wolves begin play in the Hawk-Bulldog Invitational.
NORTH FORSYTH 9, NORTH HALL 1: Niki Carver drove in Kailee Dyer with an RBI triple in the third inning to score the lone run for the Lady Trojans on Monday at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. Carver was 1 for 3 with the RBI.
Dyer was 1 for 2 with the run scored and a stolen base. North Forsyth scored in each of the five innings with Mallorie Black and Bella Caracciolo each scoring two runs. The Lady Trojans will host Lumpkin County in a Region 7-AAA matchup at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
