Buford softball rolls to 8-3 win against Brookwood

Tessa Daniels pitched a complete game and allowed two runs for Buford in an 8-3 win against Brookwood in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational on Saturday in Suwanee.

Daniels allowed seven hits and recorded four strikeouts to earn her second victory in the circle this season for the Lady Wolves (4-0).

At the plate, Noah Sudderth and Baylee Sexton each drove in a pair of runs for Buford, while Remington Hasty had a double and RBI.

Niki Cook walked three times and scored a run for Buford, who visits Fannin County at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday in Blue Ridge.

BANKS COUNTY 19, CLARKE CENTRAL 0: Taylor Kennedy had three hits, drove in three runs and scored twice for the Lady Leopards (6-1) in the Threads Tournament on Saturday at Stephens County High in Toccoa.

Mallory Parson added three hits and three RBIs for Banks County, while Morgan Rylee had three RBIs and crossed the plate twice.

BANKS COUNTY 11, EAST JACKSON 4: Haley Warner was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, and Parson finished with two hits and drove in a pair of runs. Madison Beauchamp had a single and four RBIs for Banks County.

With the wins, Banks County finished first in the tournament.

The Lady Leopards host Dawson County at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday in Homer.


Lakeview Academy won matches against Prince Avenue Christian (25-16, 25-13), Athens Christian (25-14, 25-14) and Tallulah Falls (25-15, 25-13), and lost to Hebron Christian (25-6, 25-18) on Saturday in a play day at Athens Academy in Watkinsville.
Katie White led the Lady Lions with 24 digs, 19 kills and three aces, while Shelby Ross added 14 kills, 13 digs and five blocks. Samantha Versteeg notched 29 digs for Lakeview Academy, and Bailey Towles finished with 33 assists.
