Gainesville's Ralston tied for 3rd entering final round at Georgia Junior Golf Championship

Gainesville High’s Spencer Ralston remains in striking distance of a victory in the Georgia State Golf Association’s Junior Championship at the Brunswick Country Club after a second-round 2-under 70 on Tuesday.

Ralston is tied for third at 5-under 139 with first-round leader Mark David Johnson Jr. of St. Simons Island through two of the three rounds. He was tied for second and one shot back after one round.

Jonathan Keppler of Marietta leads at 8-under 136 on the strength of a second-round 5-under 67, with Jake Fendt of Suwanee second at 6-under 138 following a 68.

Fellow Red Elephant golfer Nathan Williams shot a 76 Tuesday to fall from a tie for sixth to a tie for 20th at 2-over 146.

White County’s Garrett Rowland improved by four shots with a 5-over 77 Tuesday and is now at 14-over 158.
Ralston and Williams continue play with today’s final round.
