Football scoreboard: Lumpkin blanks Pickens, 17-0

Lumpkin County High grinded out a 20-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in the second half en route to a 17-0 win over Pickens on Friday night in Jasper. Daniel Abercrombie capped the drive with a touchdown run from the 7 for the Indians (3-3, 2-1 Region 7A-AAA).

Leading 9-0 in the fourth, Lumpkin County's Jake McClure scored from the 8 and Abercrombie added the two-point conversion. Indians kicker Ben Ayres made a 50-yard field goal giving Lumpkin County an early 3-0 lead going into halftime.

Lumpkin County plays host to West Hall next Friday in Dahlonega; Pickens visits North Hall at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at The Brickyard in Gainesville.

Apalachee 28, Habersham Central 19
The Raiders (3-4, 3-4 Region 8-AAAA) took a 10-7 lead into halftime but were unable to hold on to that lead on Friday in Bethlehem.

Habersham Central quarterback Austin Brown completed 10-of-20 passes for 95 yards. Raiders running backs Kevin Ellison and David Griffin combined for 134 yards. Dee Ellison had a pair of catches for 48 yards for Habersham Central. Zach Mayfield and Zach Smith combined for 36 receiving yards for the Raiders.

Habersham Central plays host to Monroe Area at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Mount Airy.

Commerce 49, Athens Christian 20
Tigers running back Jon Cash had six carries for 128 yards and two touchdowns, and returned a kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown. Commerce (2-4, 1-1 Region 8-A) quarterback Phillip Edwards had 171 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Carl Allen scored for the Tigers on an 81-yard touchdown run, and Chase Bowen added a touchdown from the 1.

Commerce plays host to Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Commerce.

Creekview 33, White County 0
The Grizzlies (2-4, 1-1 Region 7A-AAA) picked up their first subregion win on Friday night in Canton. With the win, Creekview has now won back-to-back games after struggling to an 0-4 start this season.
Creekview visits Gilmer next Friday; White County (2-4, 0-2) plays host to Chestatee at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.

Grace Baptist 60, North Georgia Christian 38
North Georgia Christian quarterback Joe Boonstra was 7-for-14 passing for 82 yards and three touchdowns and added 51 yards rushing and a touchdown on Friday night.

Chargers running back Tyler Dunn ran for 58 yards and Dylan Boonstra added 34 yards and a touchdown.

North Georgia Christian (3-5) plays host to Philadelphia Christian at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Gainesville.
