Charles Dimnwaobi won two events as the Riverside Military track and field team earned first place at the 18-team Outback Steakhouse Eagle’s Landing Region Tune-Up on Friday at Eagle’s Landing High in McDonough.
Dimnwaobi claimed the top spot in both the 100-meter dash (10.88 seconds) and the 200-meter race (22.14) as the Eagles racked up 99 team points. Second-place Union Grove finished with 87 points.
Isaac Teasley compiled a trio of top-three showings, coming one-hundreth of a second short of first place in the 400-meter race, which he completed in 48.91. He took second place in the triple jump with a distance of 44 feet, 2½ inches, and his time of 22.46 seconds was good for third place in the 200-meter dash.
Both Preston Levine in the pole vault (11-06) and Alfred Ebubechukwudimma in the shot put (44-0) provided third-place finishes for Riverside Military. The Eagles’ 800-meter relay team also finished third.
Riverside Military will look to defend its Region 8-A title at this week’s region meet at Providence Christian in Lilburn. Preliminary races and field events will be held Thursday, with final races set for Saturday.
