High school golf: Gainesville High girls team take first at Spring Swing at Mossy Creek

The Gainesville High girls golf program took first place at the Spring Swing Invitational on Saturday at Mossy Creek Golf Course in Cleveland. 

The Lady Red Elephants won by five strokes over Commerce and 10 shots ahead of White County. 

For Gainesville, senior Vivian Robinson was low medallist when she chipped to within two feet of the cup and tapped in for par on the first sudden death playoff hole.

Up next, Gainesville takes part in the Class 6A state championship, starting May 20 at Cobblestone Golf Course in Canton.
