University of Georgia sophomore forward Marcus Thornton will undergo exploratory surgery Tuesday to determine the extent of an injury to his right knee, head coach Mark Fox announced today.

Thornton, a 6-7 native of Atlanta, injured his knee in the first half of Georgia's 64-50 win over Furman last Friday. A determination on Thornton's recovery time will be made following surgery.

The Bulldogs complete their non-conference schedule Tuesday vs. Winthrop at 7 p.m. and Friday vs. Delaware State at 2 p.m. in Athens.
