ATHENS — Football fans watching games at the University of Georgia will be able to send text messages to request assistance in the stadium this season.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports that fans who need help at Sanford Stadium can send a text message to a central command post using their cell phones.

UGA and In Stadium Solutions will offer the text message communication system starting at the home opener on Sept. 4 against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Fans in the stadium will be able to text “DAWGS (space) the issue and location” to 69050. Standard data and SMS rates will apply.
