Freddie Freeman went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and three runs scored to lead the Gwinnett Braves to an 8-3 win over Norfolk on Thursday afternoon at Harbor Park.

Freeman connected for both of his homers off of Norfolk starter Brandon Erbe (0-3), who surrendered five runs in five innings to drop his third straight decision to start the season.

Mariano Gomez (1-0) earned the win in relief as he allowed one hit in 2 1/3 innings.

Gwinnett travels to Durham for the first contest of a four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
