The Brenau University volleyball team (8-1, 1-1) saw their eight game win streak come to a halt Wednesday as it fell in five games to Columbia College (8-2, 2-1) in SSAC action. 

Senior setter Audra VanArsdale broke her own school record for assists with 49 and added 15 digs, five blocks, two kills and three aces in a brilliant individual performance.

That wasn’t enough as the Golden Tigers lost 24-26, 25-23, 18-25, 26-24, 15-13. Senior outside hitter Karen Green had 22 kills and 14 digs, while Alexis Arthur had 18 kills, seven digs and a block, and Maida Smajic had 35 receptions, 23 digs and an ace.

Brenau plays host to Toccoa Falls at 7 p.m. Friday.
