The North Georgia College & State University men’s golf team was in eighth place out of 15 teams with a team stroke count of 292 following the opening round of the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate at the Sea Trail Golf Resort on Sunday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. After round one, Saints’ golfer Zach Caldwell was tied for sixth place with a two-under par 70. Behind Caldwell, sophomore Aaron George was tied for 20th with a score of 72. The Saints will resume play today at 8 a.m. Rifle The North Georgia College & State University mixed rifle team hosted the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference season-opening tournament with teams from Clemson University, The Citadel, Georgia Military College, 18th-ranked North Carolina State University and Wofford College all competing in the two-day tournament this past weekend in Dahlonega.
